About Us

Abdul Rahman Abdo Al Yahya

I have worked for the Directorate-General of Antiquities & Museums, DGAM Syria since 1999 within the Engineering, Buildings, and Control Division and various works. I participated in specialized committees at the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums. In 2014, I founded the Center for the Protection of Syrian Cultural Heritage with an elite group of archaeologists, researchers, and engineers. We worked during the last period on various works in the field. Protecting tangible and intangible heritage

Muhammad Al-Batal

He holds a degree from the Technical Institute of Antiquities and Museums, specializing in archaeological excavation, and was a government employee at the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, Excavation Department, in 2013. I worked with the Italian mission in Tel Mardikh and with the national mission in Tel Al-Bahariya. He is a founding member of the Center for Cultural Heritage Protection since 2014 and the Department of Archaeological Research and Documentation. He attended several practical courses in the field of heritage protection (QGIS) from the German Institute for Cultural Heritage in War, and the American University in Rome, and is also a member of the Sharjah Institute for Intangible Heritage.

Ahmed Anan

He graduated from the Damascus Institute of Antiquities and Museums in 2004, was appointed to the Idlib Museum in 2007, and graduated from the Faculty of History of the University of Aleppo in 2011. I moved to work at the Maarat al-Numan Museum in the same year. He participated in several mosaic restoration courses with the Greeks, French, and Italians, participated in several national excavation missions, and was a member of the mosaic restoration division at the Maarat al-Numan Museum. Head of the Buildings Division in the Maarat al-Numan Antiquities Department, a founding member of the Idlib Antiquities Center 2014 and a founding member of the Center for the Protection of Syrian Cultural Heritage 2016. He participated in courses with the Day After Organization and Heritage for Peace. He participated in implementing many protection and documentation projects, and I continue to work on protecting heritage to this day.

He graduated from the Institute of Antiquities and Museums in Damascus in 2003 History license from the University of Idlib in 2020. He is an employee of the Idlib Department of Antiquities since 2007, Department Archaeological buildings. He worked with the Japanese mission to excavate Tel Karkh from 2007 to 2010. He is a member of the Heritage Protection Center in Idlib since 2016. He holds several courses in the restoration of archaeological buildings and pottery from the Next Day organization (3D imaging course from the Japanese team for the protection of human heritage, archaeological documentation courses via Google Maps CPF from Durham and Oxford University 2023).

Salah Ali Alshaban

Graduate of the Faculty of History and Social Sciences with a Master’s degree in Oriental Archaeological Languages

He worked in the Office for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in the field of cultural heritage protection and archaeological documentation on archaeological violations

Ahmed Anan
